I will send you a link to my client portal where you can complete an intake form, and upload your insurance information, demographic information, as well as my Practice Policies, Informed Consent for Psychotherapy, and Notice of Privacy Practices. Signatures are digital, and can be completed through the portal, so you don't need to print or scan anything.
During this session I will complete a clinical intake, get a sense of what's going on in your life and gather enough information to establish an initial diagnosis. If I am billing your insurance, I am required by law to have a diagnosis on file, and we can discuss your thoughts and feelings about this during session. DO NOT FEEL OBLIGATED AT THIS SESSION TO SHARE ANY INFORMATION YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE SHARING.
During these sessions we will complete a treatment plan, so both of us are on the same page in terms of what you are working towards in therapy. I consider the treatment plan to be a living document....life happens and sometimes things change and that's ok.
I conduct my telehealth sessions via video chat through SimplePractice. When conducting telehealth session, you are responsible for ensuring that you are in an environment that feels private and safe for you. The link for the session is sent through both text message and email, depending on your preference. On occasion the link will malfunction, so please send me an email as soon as possible if this happens so I can troubleshoot the situation.
This is both a safety and a liability issue for you and for me. If you show up to a session while driving, I will end the session and charge you the full rate for the scheduled session as a late cancel.
If you are utilizing your cell phone for your telehealth appointments, you will need to download the SimplePractice app through either the Google store or Apple store on your phone. The app is available for free. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.
My office is located in downtown Spokane, which means that you will need to plan to pay for your parking and arrive early enough to walk a few blocks. Most clients can find metered parking on the street. The parking garage for River Front Mall is also a few blocks away.
My office is on the 4th floor, and there is an elevator available.
The restrooms in the building are a bit strange. The key is available in the waiting room next to my office door. Gender neutral restrooms are available in the building are available on the second floor, mens restrooms are located on the third floor, and womens restrooms are available on the fourth floor to the left of the office.
I do have coffee and tea available...please help yourself and get comfortable when you arrive! I do request, respectfully that you remain quiet in the waiting room, as the building is over 100 years old, and the walls are not as insulated as the could be, and multiple clinicians share this space.
